➤➤ BREAKING: Trump DOJ seizes on Minneapolis shooting to demand state voter data

We’ve just seen another stunning escalation in the Trump administration’s assault on democracy.

Hours after ICE’s operation in Minneapolis resulted in the fatal shooting of another Minnesota resident, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Governor Tim Walz demanding the state’s complete voter registration rolls, including private, identifying information on millions of Minnesotans, be turned over to the federal government.

This isn’t about security or accountability, NAME. The Trump administration is trying to hold states for ransom by demanding sensitive voter data and daring them to refuse. Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon made it crystal clear: 

“The answer to Attorney General Bondi’s request is no.” 

And he’s not alone. Across the country, Democratic Secretaries of State are standing firm against these unprecedented demands to hand over sensitive voter information, because your privacy and your vote matter. But upholding the rule of law in the face of this kind of blatant federal overreach isn’t cheap or easy.
