Truth Keeps Winning!

Dear John,

Even though the mainstream media won’t tell you, there is good news to report! Judeo/Christian values are winning every day, and biblical truth is prevailing.

Positive things are happening, and here are some stories that will encourage you:

US Poised to End 2025 With the Largest One-Year Drop in Homicides Ever Recorded: Experts

Some experts say violent crime in the nation is down to pre-pandemic levels.

This year began with a deadly New Year's Day car-ramming terrorist attack in New Orleans and is finishing with a flurry of horrific shootings, including a mass shooting at Brown University, but 2025 is also poised to end with the largest one-year drop in U.S. homicides ever recorded, according to data from cities both large and small.

Based on a sampling of preliminary crime statistics from 550 U.S. law enforcement agencies, the year is expected to end with a roughly 20% decrease in homicides nationwide, Jeff Asher, a national crime analyst, told ABC News.

"So, even taking a conservative view, let's say its 17% or 16%, you're still looking at the largest one-year drop ever recorded in 2025," said Asher, co-founder of AH Datalytics and a former crime analyst for the CIA and the New Orleans Police Department.

President Trump Ends All Taxpayer Funding for International Abortions

President Donald Trump directed the expansion of the pro-life Mexico City Policy, effectively ending U.S. taxpayer funding for organizations that perform or promote abortions overseas as a method of family planning.

The expansion will will bar U.S. foreign assistance from subsidizing abortion. The State Department on Friday is expected to finalize three rules to expand the Mexico City Policy to protect foreign assistance from subsidizing abortions but also DEI and gender policies pushing the LBGTQ agenda.

This is a key pro-life achievement hailed by pro-life advocates as protecting unborn babies abroad.

The policy, originally established by President Ronald Reagan in 1984, requires foreign nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) receiving U.S. global health assistance to certify that they will not perform or actively promote abortion using funds from any source, including non-U.S. funds.

Consumer Sentiment Improves to 5-Month High

Consumer sentiment rose for a second straight month in January, reaching its highest level in five months. The Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index rose 3.5 points (6.6%) to 56.4 this month. Despite the improvement, consumer sentiment remains over 20% below where it was a year ago. The latest reading was higher than the forecast of 54.0.

The Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index is a monthly survey of consumer confidence levels in the U.S. with regards to the economy, personal finances, business conditions, and buying conditions, conducted by the University of Michigan. There are two reports released each month; a preliminary report released mid-month and a final report released at the end of the month.

Joanne Hsu, the director of surveys, made the following comments:

Consumer sentiment lifted about 3.5 index points this month, with minor gains seen across all index components. While the overall improvement was small, it was broad based, seen across the income distribution, educational attainment, older and younger consumers, and Republicans and Democrats alike. However, national sentiment remains more than 20% below a year ago, as consumers continue to report pressures on their purchasing power stemming from high prices and the prospect of weakening labor markets. Aside from tariff policy, consumers do not appear to be connecting foreign developments to their views of the economy. Note that interviews for this release concluded on January 19th, two days after Trump’s social media post announcing additional tariffs on eight countries in Europe.
