Friend, right now, Democrats in the U.S. Senate are drawing a line.

After the killing of two U.S. citizens by ICE agents in Minneapolis, Senate Democrats are refusing to rubber-stamp funding for the Department of Homeland Security without real guardrails to protect the public.

Democrats are standing up and saying something simple but powerful: no one should be unsafe at the hands of their own government.

This fight for accountability, for basic rights, for human dignity is exactly why Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat is so critical in 2026.

For the first time in years, Michigan will not have an incumbent running for this seat. Republicans know it. That’s why dark money is already pouring into our state, hoping to flip a Senate seat they haven’t been able to win in more than three decades.

And we’ve seen what happens when Republicans control the Senate.

Just weeks ago, Senate Republicans killed Affordable Care Act premium tax credits, setting up massive health care price hikes for hundreds of thousands of Michiganders. Now, they’re refusing to rein in federal agencies even as public trust is shaken and lives are lost.

Democrats don’t have the luxury of symbolic opposition. We need the votes and the power to actually govern and stop Trump’s reign. That’s why electing a Democrat to Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat isn’t just important. It’s essential.

Grassroots support is how we win this fight. Every contribution helps build the organizing infrastructure we need, from hiring organizers to expanding voter outreach to making sure Michigan voters understand exactly what’s at stake before Republicans can define this race with their lies.

Team, will you chip in today to help protect Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat and strengthen Democrats’ ability to stand up for accountability, safety, and justice? [[link removed]]

If we hold Michigan, Democrats have a real path to defending and expanding U.S. Senate power.

That’s what this moment comes down to.

Thank you for being part of this fight.
