GOD'S CHILDREN ARE NOT FOR SALE

Patriot, 

I am a survivor of child trafficking—and today, I work to make sure other children never face what I did.

My name is Theresa Flores. I was fifteen years old.

An honor student.
A daughter.
A girl who trusted the wrong "friend.”

I was trafficked for two years.

Most people imagine trafficking happens far away - in dark alleys or foreign countries.

To “other people.”

But my nightmare happened in the suburbs of Detroit.

I lived at home.
I went to high school.
And no one noticed.

On the worst night of my life, I was taken to a dirty motel room and auctioned off to nearly two dozen men.

I remember the smell of the room.
The fear in my chest.
And the silence I was forced to keep.

I survived.

But many do not. 

That’s why I partner with the Sound of Freedom Foundation.

Through education and intervention, they equip frontline partners to do what most systems never taught—help ordinary people to recognize trafficking before it’s too late.

Partners supported by Sound of Freedom Foundation train hotel employees—men and women working in places like the motel I was taken to — to see what they were never taught to look for.

To notice what others miss.
And to report it.

This is how prevention becomes possible.

Because one informed employee and one brave phone call can save a life.

Here's the truth most people don’t know.

The majority of trafficking in America happens in hotels and motels.

And it spikes around large sports events, conventions and concerts - anywhere demand increases.

There’s more you should know.  

These are children.

Not criminals.
Not “prostitutes.”

Children.

I ask you urgently - please pray they'll be found.

Sound of Freedom Foundation partners don’t stop at rescue.

Across the country, partners host healing events and wellness weekends—safe places where survivors can rest, connect, and begin again.

Survivors are offered opportunities to learn self-defense, engage in therapeutic art and movement, and build practical life skills.

Sessions help survivors learn forgiveness, rebuild trust, form healthy relationships, and set strong boundaries.

How we care for survivors matters just as much as rescuing them.

Today, by the grace of God, I am a survivor.

An advocate.

And the author so others can recognize the signs sooner.

But my story is not the point.
The children who are still trapped are.  

Every outreach is a race against time.
Every trained volunteer is a shield.
