Back then, practicing medicine wasn’t necessarily the well-respected career it is now.
I grew up hearing stories about how basic access to vaccines and clean water saved his patients’ lives. I was so inspired that I wanted to become a doctor, too (you can tell how that worked out).
As a high school student, I traveled to Guatemala to give people there vaccines. I witnessed firsthand the benefits of high vaccination rates — and what happens when folks are forced to go without.
Then, I had my son, Ben, who was born with cerebral palsy. People with disabilities like Ben are more susceptible to illness if vaccines aren’t widely utilized.
Now, with RFK Jr. serving as the Secretary of Health and Human Services under Donald Trump, our nation’s public health couldn’t be more at risk. He spreads dangerous disinformation about vaccines — and most recently, he overhauled the child vaccine schedule to recommend only 11 vaccines rather than the 18 that have been the CDC recommendation for years.
The bottom line is this: vaccines save lives. They help protect against the preventable spread of contagious diseases, but RFK Jr. is laser-focused on undoing decades of medical advancements. He’s the absolute antithesis of my grandfather.
RFK Jr. isn't just a jerk — he's a cynical charlatan who's jeopardizing the safety of our entire country. It’s critical that he does not succeed. I will continue calling out his dangerous agenda at every turn, but could really use your support.
