Hello,
Getting Americans to trust the results of our elections is a balancing act.
For many, receiving the results on Election Day is critical to establishing
trust. For others, that speed comes at the expense of accuracy.
Restoring public trust in our most important process is essential to
protecting democracy. While that debate rages on, it’s clear we have a lot of
work to do to get there. In this political moment, Americans lack consensus on
how to reform our electoral system so that we can trust the political process
again. A new survey released last week by theCenter for the Future of Arizona

sheds light on where the middle ground might exist.
Arizona is a state that has been at the center of election interference
scandals. Despite being a hotbed for election conspiracies, an overwhelming97%
of Arizonans agreed that fair and secure elections were critical to a healthy
democracy.
Vote-by-mail systems have been around since the Civil War, but in 2025 the
President declared any election with vote-by-mail automatically fraudulent. Yet
81% of Arizonans want to continue having vote-by-mail available to them because
they understand what President Trump does not: having accessible and varied
options to vote is essential.
Improving voter accessibility is key to increasing voter participation. Across
the country, states are moving swiftly to make voting less accessible, like
shortening deadlines and creating voter ID laws. However, 90% of Arizonans
believe in the importance of accessible voting. The survey suggests that
Arizonans value ease of participation above the speed of results, meaning we
cannot sacrifice accessibility and accuracy for speed in our electoral system.
At Voting Rights Fund, we work to make sure that trustworthy representatives
on both sides of the aisle are elected. That’s why we’re already scaling up our
work to elect pro-democracy champions on the ballot this November.
Your support will help us back candidates committed to restoring trust to the
electoral process. Will you contribute toward our efforts today?

Together, we will continue to call out the assaults on our democracy as we
fight to rebuild faith in our election systems.
Thanks for supporting our work to safeguard our elections.

Director, Voting Rights Fund
Voting Rights Fund wasn’t created just to defend voting rights — we elect the
leaders who will expand and protect them. Our aim is to keep our operational
costs as low as possible, so a majority of our funds go toward doing the work
that needs to be done. That means building a national bench of lawmakers who
will fight tooth and nail to expand access to the ballot box and protect our
right to vote at every level of government.
