I’m not gonna sugarcoat this. 

What we are living through right now is nothing short of a fascist regime. 

Last weekend’s senseless killing in Minneapolis was just another reminder of how bad things have gotten. 

We have a president who can barely function, a DHS head best known for murdering dogs, a court that won’t seek justice, and a Congress that refuses to accept the truth and stand up to an incompetent (and murderous) administration. 

It’s a lot to take in. This is a seriously dark time for this country, and in all honesty, it’s probably going to get worse before it gets better. 

But the power is still with us. And as long as we don’t get discouraged, which, believe me, I know is easier said than done at a time like this, we can turn things around and make sure America’s present doesn’t decide America’s future. 

Even though it may not feel like it, the power is still with people like us. We can continue taking videos of injustice (which does a lot more than you think!) We can keep calling on our elected officials to grow a spine and stop funding Trump’s Gestapo. And when the time comes, we can make our voices heard at the polls and take down the people responsible for this recent brutality.

Want to know why it seems like Trump can do whatever he wants right now? It’s because he can. Our side doesn’t have a leg to stand on. They have all three branches of government, and that basically means there are no checks on Donald Trump right now. The silver lining? All we have to do is take back one branch, and Trump is screwed. 

Taking Congress back is a MUST if we want to keep this democracy intact. It’s our only chance at stopping Trump from destroying everything we’ve built over the last 250 years. Take away his power, and he’ll fall as every other shitty dictator has in the past.
