A trusted Minnesota resource and a Know Your Rights training happening tomorrow.

People For the American Way.

Friend –

Across Minnesota, communities are being forced to respond to hostile and destabilizing actions by ICE and Border Patrol agents. These actions are creating fear, disruption, and real harm for families and neighbors, with no accountability for those inflicting the harm.

In the face of this pressure, community organizations across the state are stepping up. They are providing legal support, rapid response, mutual aid, and community care for people who are being targeted or impacted by federal immigration enforcement.

If you are looking for a way to help, Stand With Minnesota is a trusted hub connecting people to Minnesota based organizations doing this work right now.

Visit ‘Stand With Minnesota’ to support community organizations across the state >>

The site highlights groups responding on the ground and makes it easier to support efforts rooted in care, dignity, and collective protection.

We also want to make sure you have access to clear information about your rights during encounters with federal immigration officials.

Tomorrow, Tuesday January 27, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm ET, our allies at Democracy 2025 and the NGO Solidarity Network will be hosting a free virtual training titled “Know Your Rights When Interacting with Federal Immigration Officials.”

This training will review the legal framework for interactions with ICE and Border Patrol agents, clarify what federal agents are authorized to do, and outline how individuals and communities can protect themselves.

This moment calls for both solidarity and preparation. Supporting community organizations and knowing your rights are tangible ways to respond when federal power is being used to intimidate and harm.

Thank you for standing with Minnesota and with the communities working to protect one another.

In solidarity,

People For the American Way
