What does real political power look like beyond Election Day?
Building Black and Brown Political Power: Beyond the Ballot Box is an upcoming event focused on the critical, and often misunderstood, structures that make sustained civic power possible. The conversation will break down the distinct roles of nonprofits and PACs, and how each contributes to the long-term Black and Brown political empowerment.
While voting efforts are essential, they are only the starting point. Lasting influence requires year-round organizing, strategic infrastructure, and a clear understanding of how different entities can be used together to protect communities and advance equality.
This event will demystify these tools, clarify their legal boundaries, and show why 501(c)(3)s, 501(c)(4)s, and Political Action Committees work best in coordination, not isolation.

Building power doesn’t stop at the ballot box. It starts with knowledge and grows with action.
