There is unrest all across our country. Another life has tragically been lost at the hands of our government in Minneapolis. My prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones.

But let’s be clear: this tragedy — this terror — is a policy choice by this Administration.

We’ve all seen how DHS Secretary Kristi Noem lies and has led ICE to stray from its original mission. Instead of following the Constitution and using best practices in law enforcement, ICE is terrorizing American citizens, demanding citizenship ‘papers,’ and destroying property families have worked hard for.

ICE needs transparency, accountability, and to follow the law. Full stop. That’s why I voted against ICE funding last week. It’s why I voted against $75 billion in ICE funding over the summer. And that’s why I believe Kristi Noem deserves to be impeached, have her budget scrutinized, and be sent packing back to South Dakota.

We’re at a critical moment for our values and for our country. We must put a stop to this president and his reign of terror and chaos.
