Donald Trump’s efforts to rig the 2026 midterm elections for Republicans by passing illegal gerrymanders are backfiring big time as Democrats fight fire with fire. In Virginia, lawmakers have drawn up new maps that will add FOUR new Democratic seats, counteracting the new red seats in Texas and leaving Virginia Republicans with just one single seat.

But in order to pass them, voters must vote for a constitutional amendment that would give power back to the legislature to draw maps — and the special election is just three months away, which does not give us a lot of time to educate the public on what Democrats are trying to do and win their approval.

Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy, but right now, they are under threat. This amendment gives Virginians the power to level the playing field, preserve fair representation, and protect our democracy for our kids and grandkids.

With so many other states trying to stack the deck, Virginia is acting to restore fairness in the upcoming congressional elections — while ensuring Virginia voters have the final say and can review proposed congressional district maps before deciding how to vote.

Trump and his Republican enablers are tearing our country apart at the seams; their paramilitary goons are murdering our citizens in the street while Donald Trump turns the White House into a carnival of corruption and ignorance, rolling back every law that protects us from the greed of big corporations and pardoning criminals left and right.

If we’re going to put a stop to the madness and hold Trump accountable, we NEED to take back Congress. Passing this amendment and adding four more seats would make our job in November a lot easier, but we’re going to need all hands on deck to get it passed.
