Team,

Senator Ruben Gallego is warning Arizonans to be prepared: ICE could be increasing its presence in Phoenix.

After reports that ICE could surge enforcement agents to Phoenix as it has in Chicago and Los Angeles, Gallego called out the agency's overreach and racial profiling.

"How ICE is being used is not to go after criminals," Gallego said. "It's to do racial profiling. It's to intimidate the local population."

This comes after ICE agents shot and killed Renée Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, both U.S. citizens, in Minneapolis. The Trump administration is defending the agents. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz accused the administration of tainting both investigations. The FBI is no longer working with state-level law enforcement.

If you want to flip the state blue so we can fight back against ICE overreach across all 15 counties, we need your help.

Gallego called on Arizonans to protect themselves — including carrying IDs or passports, "because they are not afraid to detain U.S. citizens for as long as they can."

He's supporting legislation to reform DHS, including requiring warrants for arrests and stopping agents from wearing masks during operations.

"We're gonna do everything we can to hold them accountable, to stop their goonish natures and to protect the people of Arizona," Gallego said.

While Arizona Republicans rush to defend ICE and push legislation to criminalize protesters, Gallego is demanding accountability and standing with Arizonans facing intimidation and racial profiling.

We need to flip competitive seats so we have more Democrats fighting back against ICE overreach. We need to organize in all 15 counties.

Thanks for standing with us,
