How the Texas Education Freedom Accounts Program Supports Students with Disabilities

The Texas Education Freedom Accounts Program is the education savings account program that was created to provide families with more choices for their child’s education. Qualifying students with disabilities who apply are added to the list of applicants for priority consideration. The program will launch on February 4, 2026.

GCPD has received many questions from Texans on how this program will work to support their child that has a disability. To answer these questions, GCPD is partnering with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts to host a webinar about the TEFA program on February 3 at 11:00 A.M. This session will provide an overview of the programs and highlight funding opportunities designed to support students with disabilities.

Presented by Lindsay Baerwald, Marketing and Outreach Manager for the TEFA Program at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
