John, After my time in the Navy, I went to college and earned my degree in “industrial organizational psychology”: a field that I describe as kind of like if HR and psychology had a baby. Most people spend half or more of their waking adult lives at their jobs and workplaces. What I do is study what makes for a happy, satisfying, and also productive workplace—and then I advocate for policies and systems that enhance and enrich our working lives. I can tell you right now: Congress is one of the most dysfunctional and broken systems I’ve ever seen. And because Congress is so completely busted, we see the effects of that in so many parts of our lives: Healthcare: We don’t have a healthcare system—we have a “sickcare” system. Congress must reform our broken healthcare system and enact universal coverage, but they won’t. Immigration: Congress can fix immigration, they just don’t want to. We have to rein in ICE, then enact policy that allows for both legal immigration and humane enforcement. Access to internet and broadband: People in rural parts of my district are completely left out of the economy. Enough. We need a level playing field and equal access to broadband. National security: Our safety is the first priority, and right now Trump is making us weaker, less safe, and more vulnerable to attack from our adversaries while alienating our allies. This has to stop. As a Navy veteran and a lifelong advocate for working people, I am running for Congress to fix broken systems and fight for fairness. But my opponent Rep. Paul Gosar is one of the most extreme MAGA politicians in the entire country. With Gosar in office, America will never make progress because Congress will always be held hostage by extremists like him. I am running to defeat MAGA extremist Paul Gosar to make Congress work on real solutions to actual problems.
