It's all well and good for Fox's Maria Bartiromo to finally accept basic reality and voice her frustration and concern over the brutal ICE killing of Alex Pretti, but it's far too little and obviously much too late. Let's definitely not forget: the reason the Trump regime feels like they can commit crimes with impunity is because they get daily cover from right-wing sycophants like Bartiromo. She has been among the most vocal in her blind fealty to Trump, feeding her viewers a steady stream of MAGA-branded bullshit to cover for Donald's criminal and corrupt behavior.

If Maria wants to start asking tough questions and belatedly hold the regime's feet to the fire, we of course welcome the pivot. But she has been a principle enabler in the MAGA movement, and her propaganda network is a huge part of the reason our republic is teetering on a knife's edge. Fox News owns this mess alongside the Trump regime, and they should be doing far more to unmake it.

Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse and US citizen, was lawfully carrying a registered and licensed handgun — which was his constitutional right — when he was attacked by a gaggle of ICE goons and fatally shot ten times — while being restrained. Pretti was holding a cell phone at the time of his killing and was trying to assist a fellow female protester who had been shoved to the ground by an agitated ICE agent moments before. Pretti never brandished his weapon, he never threatened the life of anyone, and he clearly did not initiate the altercation. He was fatally shot at point-blank range multiple times anyway.

But to hear Trump Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent tell it, Pretti sealed his own fate by simply carrying his legal, licensed firearm and "should've brought a billboard" to protest instead. Mind-numbingly offensive garbage that would make Orwell's Big Brother blush.
