The sun rose over Minneapolis this morning. It may be a new week, but for the people living there, the nightmare hasn't ended.

The violence isn't stopping. The occupation isn't over. Despite the outrage, despite the shooting of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, and despite the cries for justice, Donald Trump’s paramilitary forces are still patrolling the streets like an invading army.

Trump is betting that we will get tired. He’s betting that the news cycle will move on and that the American people will eventually accept a militarized, occupied city as the "new normal."

He is wrong. We will not look away. We will not surrender.

The brave people of Minnesota are on the front lines of the fight for the soul of our democratic republic. They are standing up for all of us, and they need to know they aren't standing alone.
