john, teachers are scared.

Tennessee lawmakers have left schools to determine how to reopen this fall, making reopening plans inconsistent and creating more questions than answers. Our Legislature is doing little to instill confidence in teachers, staff, students, and families as they get ready to go back to school.

A recent survey showed the majority of educators are uncomfortable with returning to school in person full time this fall. As a result, teachers are considering taking leaves of absence, retiring early, or not returning at all this fall.

POLL: Do you think it's safe for teachers, staff, and students to return to school this fall?

[YES] [NO]

No one should be scared when going back to school.

But with more than 38,000 active COVID-19 cases in Tennessee, teachers are being forced to make an impossible decision between their jobs and their health and the health of their students.

Our campaign is built on communication. We always want to hear your thoughts -- especially about an issue that affects all of our families and communities.

So please click here to take our poll and tell us if you believe it's safe for teachers, staff, and students to return to school this fall →
