Dear John,
Yesterday morning, ICE murdered Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse, in Minneapolis.
We want to be clear from the start: this killing is the responsibility of ICE and the federal administration that continues to deploy them as an occupying force in our communities. Protesters are not responsible for public safety. Community members are not responsible for managing ICE’s violence. The Trump administration is—and it must stop the killing immediately.
Organizers and impacted communities in Minneapolis are demanding that ICE leave Minnesota now. Not a pause. Not a redeployment. A full withdrawal.
And this cannot stop at Minnesota. If ICE is pushed out of Minneapolis only to move into another city, the violence will continue elsewhere. We are calling for an end to ICE occupations across the country.
WHAT COMMUNITIES ARE DEMANDING
* ICE must leave Minnesota immediately.
* The officers who murdered Renee Good and Alex Pretti must be removed from law enforcement immediately and held accountable.
* No additional federal funding for ICE [[link removed]] in the upcoming Congressional budget, and full investigations into ICE’s human and constitutional rights violations.
* Corporations must stop enabling ICE by becoming 4th Amendment businesses—ending economic relationships with ICE and refusing use of their properties as staging grounds.
* No evictions under occupation. As ICE terrorizes immigrant communities, people across Minneapolis are losing work, income, and housing stability. Elected leaders must declare an eviction moratorium to protect our neighbors.

MATERIAL SUPPORT & SOLIDARITY
Our member organization InquilinXs UnidXs por Justicia [[link removed]] (IX) is based in Minneapolis and working with the local organization ZACAH to meet immediate needs created by ICE’s violence. In addition to fighting for an eviction moratorium [[link removed]] , IX is raising funds for rental assistance for impacted members and their families.
Supporting this effort is a critical way to help families stay housed while we fight to end ICE’s occupation altogether.

We ask all member organizations, allies, and supporters to escalate with us and to follow the leadership of organizers in Minneapolis. This is a national crisis—and it demands a national response.
