After a long day on the campaign trail, coming home to my dog, John Bender, always brings a huge smile to my face.

John Bender, if you don’t know, is the name of the rough-and-tough kid in the 80’s movie The Breakfast Club who gets in fights, insults teachers, and gets weekly detentions.

But unlike the movie John Bender, my John Bender is just a lovable cute cuddle-ball who would never hurt a soul!

When I first met John Bender, he would follow me everywhere. So when his owner told me that he couldn’t take care of Bender anymore, my family and I were thrilled to adopt this little ball of love.

In addition to loving Dog Night at an Omaha Storm Chasers' game, John Bender prefers to spend his days being held like a newborn baby and napping more hours than he spends awake every day. Honestly, I’m jealous of him.
