Monday Nature Mystery

We are pleased to announce the winner of last week's Monday Mystery, Claudia Thompson-Deah!

Eleven people correctly identified our mystery plant, American Cancer-root (Conopholis americana). Other common names are: squawroot or bear corn. This North American native perennial is parasitic and non-photosynthesizing. Since we had so many technically correct answers this week, we had a drawing to select the winner:
