I made a difficult decision this morning, and as a member of our grassroots team, you deserve to know why.

Yesterday, my campaign team came to me with an urgent request. We needed to expand our digital outreach — fast.

Why? Because my Democratic opponent, Raja Krishnamoorthi, is outspending us on TV and digital.

His ads are airing on televisions across the state, and he’s bought that air time with donations from the very people we are fighting against: Corporate PACs, a Project 2025 author, Trump advisors, and even an executive tied to ICE.

With less than 2 months until our primary, we needed to urgently respond and make sure his ads don't drown our movement out.

So my team came up with a plan. They recommended expanding our digital outreach to spread our message, reach new supporters, and raise the resources we need to compete with his TV ads. But there was one problem: The money wasn’t in our budget.

I spent a day thinking over whether we should take the risk and make the investment. And this morning, I gave them the green light.

I agreed because, truthfully, we can’t afford to fall behind right now when so much is on the line. But most importantly, I said yes because I believe in the power of this team, and I believe in you.

Unlike my opponent, we’re a grassroots-powered campaign. You’ve stood by my side, so I am counting on you to help us close this budget gap and make this investment worth it.

We can’t risk Illinoisans being represented by a MAGA-sponsored Democrat.

So on the heels of this difficult budget decision, I am asking:
