MEET MOLLY SHEAHAN
The Maryland Catholic Conference is happy to welcome Molly Sheahan,
our new associate director for respect life advocacy. A native of
California, Molly has worked with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles,
organizing the annual walk for life and providing parish education on
all pro-life and social justice issues. She just received a master's
degree from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute on Marriage and
Family. Please welcome her!

Please read on for a message from her.
Tell Molly:
What’s one life
affirming law you think could be passed in Maryland that you would
love to see?
Email me your idea! I want to hear from you.
New Resources for Catholic
Parishes on End of Life Care
With COVID, good palliative care, hospice care, and how to talk to
our loved ones about our healthcare wishes should we not be able to
make those decisions is on our minds. I'm gathering the best resources
to help parishioners learn and talk about these topics. Of course, we
always view the end of life in the light of the Resurrection. Stay
tuned – you’ll be among the first to get the resources.
In the
News
Abortion: A Maryland judge allowed
abortion drugs to be mailed or prescribed by tele-medicine, which
puts women (and unborn children) at increased risk.
Death Penalty: The federal government executed
three men this month, the first federal executions in 17
years.
Disability Rights: A Texas man died
from COVID after doctors refused to treat him because he was a
quadriplegic.
Physician Assisted Suicide: In CA, doctors are now
prescribing
suicide drugs via Zoom and some are suggesting
PAS should be expanded to Alzheimer’s patients.
Let’s keep all those who have been affected by these stories and
their families in our prayers. And be sure to check in on home bound
parishioners you know, or overwhelmed moms and dads. A phone call goes
a long way.
Blessings,
Molly C. Sheahan, M.T.S. Associate Director for Respect Life
