Friends,

They say it takes a village to raise a child -- and nowhere is that more apparent than in our nation's schools.

Bus drivers, clerical staff, janitors, food service employees, social workers, and more -- all of these education support professionals are critical members of the community that care for and support our students every day.

But right now, too many of these workers don't have access to family and medical leave due to a gap in our federal law. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, no one should have to choose between their health -- not to mention the health of our children -- and their job when faced with an illness.

That's why I introduced the Education Support Professionals Family Leave Act to ensure that the folks who keep our schools running can access family and medical leave to keep themselves, their families, and our communities safe.

This legislation is a small but crucial step toward giving our school employees the support they deserve. I need 3,000 signers to call on Congress to pass the ESP Family Leave Act immediately >>
