ICE just shot and killed another US citizen here in Minneapolis.

I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to forget the footage. They tackled him to the ground, maybe 5 or 6 of them, then shot him in the head.

Sunrise Minneapolis has been hosting Wide Awake protests at hotels where ICE sleeps. The protests have forced ICE out of several hotels. We're hosting a virtual training tomorrow to teach you how to plan these in your city or town.

The stakes have never been more clear to me. If we are not able to mobilize and force ICE out of our neighborhoods soon, we will be living in an authoritarian regime, with an armed gestapo, accountable only to Trump, roaming our streets and intimidating, attacking, and killing Americans who speak out.

The news from the last few weeks has all been connected. Trump captures Maduro and claims he is going to lead Venezuela now. Trump threatens to invade Greenland so he can run it. Trump tries to invade Minneapolis so he can suppress political dissent.

Trump is going to forcibly invade and oppress anywhere he thinks he can’t control. He’s building a fascist state that will do the bidding of the fossil fuel oligarchs, and we have to fight here at home to make sure that does not happen, or in a decade we’ll be staring down the twin barrels of his gestapo and complete climate apocalypse.

We need you on our call, every single one of you. This is not just about Minneapolis. It’s about the future of our democracy and our planet.
