Dr. Ruiz represents California 36th district after unseating a 15-year Republican incumbent. Before serving in Congress, Dr. Ruiz worked as an emergency physician in Coachella Valley. Dr. Ruiz started the Coachella Valley Healthcare Initiative, which brought together regional leaders to fix local health care's biggest problems in his community. And now, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Ruiz is using his insight as an ER doctor and an experienced legislator to guide his district through this crisis.
