Protecting Mothers and the Unborn

Pregnancy centers are typically non-profit, faith-based organizations that provide services to protect the lives of both the mother and the child. In 2024 alone, these centers served nearly 2 million women and families. This week, I proudly voted for the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act, which prevents the Secretary of Health and Human Services from restricting funding for pregnancy centers that serve new mothers and families that choose life.

I am committed to defending those children who are defenseless and was honored to have earned an A+ on the Susan B. Anthony pro-life scorecard earlier this month. I spoke with many Louisianans in D.C. for this year’s national March for Life and heard why they fight for the unborn. I will continue to defend those children who are defenseless, uphold the sanctity of life, and provide the care and support mothers deserve.

Tax Season Starts Soon

Last July, we passed President Trump’s signature legislation, the Working Families Tax Cut, to deliver the largest tax cut in American history, increase the Child Tax Credit for over 40 million families, ensure 88 percent of all seniors who receive Social Security will get a special deduction to offset their taxes, and fulfill our promises of no tax on tips and no tax on overtime – all while securing historic savings of over $1 trillion. 

On Monday, January 26, 2026, the 2026 tax filing season kicks off, when Americans will begin to see many of the changes from the Working Families Tax Cut take effect. This is projected to be the largest tax refund season in history, thanks to Republicans' historic tax cuts. Make sure to review the IRS’s website for these updates, and please feel free to reach out to my office if you have questions.

Visiting the Capitol
