This year has already presented many challenges -- costs on everything from housing to health care are rising, while the Trump administration threatens more tariffs and kowtows to GOP billionaire donors.

It’s chaos. And it does nothing to better our communities.

While it seems far off now, November’s midterm elections are the best opportunity to make our voices heard. Only a few seats separate House control, and a Democratic majority would finally hold the MAGA agenda accountable.

This election is unprecedented. After the passage of Proposition 50 in California, thousands of voters who have never seen my name on the ballot were folded into my district -- and CA-27 is still listed by political experts at Sabato’s Crystal Ball as one of the most competitive races nationwide.
