We’re heading into the final stretch of January, and our first end-of-month fundraising deadline of the election year is just days away.
It couldn’t come at a more impactful time: Last week, the Cook Political Report released updated ratings of the most competitive races nationwide -- and CA-45 is now the most vulnerable Democratic-held seat in Southern California.
That’s not speculation -- it’s a reflection of how competitive this race is, and how determined Republicans are to take it back.
When I launched this campaign, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. We flipped this district by 653 votes -- one of the closest margins in the country. I ran because families like mine needed someone willing to fight for them, and I’ve carried that same urgency with me into Congress every day since.
But now, national Republicans are lining up behind multiple challengers, clearing the field for a big-name opponent, and preparing to flood this district with outside cash.
With the House majority hanging by a thread, holding CA-45 is essential to stopping the MAGA agenda and protecting the progress we’ve made.
