As you know, entrenched incumbent Lacy Clay has launched a smear campaign against Cori this week. Every day, he’s reaching thousands of voters with mailers and TV ads filled with lies and comments shaming Cori for suffering as a Black working-class, single-mother under his 20 years of “leadership.” 


This is dangerous. Lacy Clay is playing dirty because he’s scared and desperate. He sees the strength of our movement, and his only option is to make baseless character attacks because he has no real record of his own to run and win on. Many voters don’t commit to a candidate until these final few days, and to be frank, we cannot afford to let him get the upper hand.


Our 100% grassroots campaign has raised nearly $700,000 to date, and our investments are paying off. But we’re down to the wire now—every $ we raise will buy us more air time to fight back against his attacks and reach more voters.
