John,

House Republicans accomplished so much this week. We took action to support
moms, protect Minnesota mining jobs and our national security, ensure there are
consequences for foreign fraudsters and terrorists, and rein in wasteful
spending. Here’s a quick look at what we worked on this week and why it matters.

This week, the House passed my Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and
Families Act—a victory for mothers, children, and basic fairness in federal
policy. For years, the Biden administration used Washington bureaucracy to
punish pregnancy resource centers simply because they choose life and offer
real help instead of abortion referrals. This bill puts a hard stop to that
abuse of power by making it unmistakably clear states can support pregnancy
centers through Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). It restores
neutrality to the law and ensures that compassion, not ideology, guides how
assistance is delivered to families in need. By passing this bill, the House
rejected an anti-motherhood agenda that treated life-affirming care as suspect.
Now the Senate must do its job, pass this bill, and send it to President
Trump’s desk to become law.

With the House voting this week to overturn President Biden’s blanket ban on
mining in northeast Minnesota, we are taking an important step toward restoring
balance, common sense, and Minnesota’s right to manage its resources. This vote
doesn’t greenlight any project; it simply rejects a one-size-fits-all federal
ban that shut down opportunity before Minnesota’s rigorous environmental review
process could even begin. At a time when China dominates these supply chains,
it was simply reckless for the Biden administration to lock up American
resources and outsource production to other countries. The potential benefits
are real, coming in the form of good-paying jobs and a stronger domestic supply
of critical minerals. Minnesotans have never accepted the false choice between
protecting clean water and supporting responsible mining. We can do both, and
this action makes it possible again.

I proudly cosponsored the Stop Citizenship Abuse and Misrepresentation (SCAM)
Act, introduced by Whip Emmer, to protect the integrity of American
citizenship. This bill ensures real consequences, including denaturalization
and deportation, for those who commit fraud against taxpayers, affiliate with
terrorist organizations, or are convicted of serious felonies or espionage
within ten years of naturalization. Minnesotans have seen the damage caused by
fraud and abuse, and I will always support commonsense policies that put
national security and the rule of law first.

House Republicans delivered a historic win by passing all twelve Fiscal Year
2026 appropriations bills through regular order. There was no bloated omnibus
and no endless continuing resolutions. For the first time in more than a
decade, Congress returned to a committee-led, member-driven process that
restores accountability. House Republicans funded the government responsibly
while cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. These bills spend less than another
full-year continuing resolution and lock in reforms that put taxpayers first.
Once enacted, any last remnants of Biden-era spending will be replaced with
President Trump’s spending levels. This is how Congress is supposed to work,
and I was proud to support getting it done for Minnesota and the country.

As always, thank you for your continued trust and support. Don’t hesitate to
reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with anything.

With gratitude,
