Make no mistake about it: We're not just playing defense this year—we're
taking the fight to the gun lobby in cities and states across the country
and building on the massive momentum YOU helped create last year:

* A big win in VA: We helped former Moms Demand Action volunteer and Gun
Sense Candidate Abigail Spanberger win the Virginia governorship
* A ban on Glock switches: We helped California enact a
first-in-the-nation bill banning the sale of handguns that can be
easily converted to machine guns
* And safety by the numbers: As of today, 22 states and D.C. have
background checks laws, 22 states and D.C. now have Red Flag laws, and
28 states and D.C. have banned machine gun conversion devices.

The next phase of our roadmap is critical: We're fighting back against gun
trafficking and the dangerous spread of illegal guns into communities
across the country. Right now, too many guns that are sold legally are
quickly ending up in the hands of people who should never have them.

Plus, we're expanding our efforts to pass more bills across the country
that would ban the sale of pistols that can easily be converted into fully
automatic machine guns. Weapons of war, and those that turn other weapons
into them, have no place in our streets.

And, we're pushing back on reckless legislation being pushed by the gun
lobby's allies in Congress—like the Concealed Carry Mandate, which would
override state gun laws and make it easier for dangerous individuals to
carry a concealed gun in states that wouldn't otherwise let them.

We've got our work cut out for us. The gun lobby thinks they have the
upper hand with the current administration as their puppet. But we have
our roadmap and we have you.
