The application deadline for the Speechwriters Fellowship extended to Friday, August 14 APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED! The new deadline to apply for the 2020 Speechwriters Fellowship is Friday, August 14. Apply now! Important Announcement! Due to uncertainty regarding COVID-related restrictions this fall, as well as a desire to provide the best learning environment for our fellows, we are in the process of revising the format for the 2020 Speechwriters Fellowship. Please stay tuned for an upcoming announcement regarding the 2020 schedule. Click here to request an email notification regarding the updated schedule or check the website for further details. ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP Founded in 2017, the Claremont Speechwriters Fellowship combines an education in the principles of the American Founding with a study of modern political speech craft. Applications are now open for the Fall 2020 Speechwriters Fellowship. During the fellowship, speechwriters will engage in a theoretical and rhetorical study of dominant political themes animating the 2020 Presidential election, such as equality, American identity, and globalism. Classes will be led by a combination of Claremont scholars and former presidential speechwriters, under the direction of former Reagan White House Speechwriter, Clark Judge. Past fellows include speechwriters for President Donald J Trump, chief speechwriters for the Secretaries of Treasury, State, Justice, Defense, Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, as well as speechwriters for members of the Leadership in both the House and Senate. View the complete list of the 2017, 2018, and 2019 fellows. As Abraham Lincoln wisely observed, “Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment, nothing can fail; without it, nothing can succeed.” This program is created for the purpose of providing the missing argument in the battle to win public sentiment by teaching and promoting the principled reasoning of our Founding and the statesmanship required to vindicate that reasoning in public speech and, ultimately, in practice. As always, thank you for your support in making this program—and all of our programs—a success. P.S. – Please help us spread the word by sharing this email and sending us your recommendations. Apply now! EXTENDED! Application deadline is Friday, August 14 Testimonials "The Fellowship could not have been a more valuable experience. It struck the perfect balance between serious study of first principles, practical advice from veteran writers, and opportunities to talk and compare notes with peers from across the government." – Chief Speechwriter, Senator Mitch McConnell "[The Claremont Speechwriters Fellowship] connected older traditions with a newer, younger generation charged with maintaining them. It served as a bridge between experienced speechwriters and newbies to the profession, and between scholars and those working in specific political offices. And it has helped me navigate on-the-job traffic that results any time pragmatism, personalities, and principles jockey for room at the writing table." – Speechwriter, Department of State "Claremont has brought decades of academic and professional Speechwriting experience to bear in this wonderful course which tracks both the development of American political thought and the practical challenges with communicating these convictions to the American people." – Former Chief Speechwriter, Department of Housing and Urban Development About___Magazine___Fellowships___CCJ___Events___Donate The mission of the Claremont Institute is to restore the principles of the American Founding to their rightful, preeminent authority in our national life. ‌ ‌ ‌ The Claremont Institute | 1317 W Foothill Blvd #120, Upland, CA 91786 Unsubscribe [email protected] Update Profile | About our service provider Sent by [email protected] powered by Try email marketing for free today!
