ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP Founded in 2017, the Claremont Speechwriters Fellowship combines an education in the principles of the American Founding with a study of modern political speech craft. Applications are now open for the Fall 2020 Speechwriters Fellowship. During the fellowship, speechwriters will engage in a theoretical and rhetorical study of dominant political themes animating the 2020 Presidential election, such as equality, American identity, and globalism. Classes will be led by a combination of Claremont scholars and former presidential speechwriters, under the direction of former Reagan White House Speechwriter, Clark Judge. Past fellows include speechwriters for President Donald J Trump, chief speechwriters for the Secretaries of Treasury, State, Justice, Defense, Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, as well as speechwriters for members of the Leadership in both the House and Senate.
