Over the weekend, a disturbing video surfaced of Vietnam veteran Mike Hastie being pepper sprayed in the face at point-blank range by federal agents in Portland after he joined Black Lives Matter protests in solidarity.
While disturbing, this is just the latest in a series of attacks by unmarked federal agents against veterans supporting the Black Lives Matter movements in the city.
Last week, a different viral video showed Navy veteran Christopher David being maced and beaten by federal officers. David decided to join the march after he saw videos of unmarked police cars kidnapping and detaining demonstrators unjustly.
The simple, yet important question these veterans were asking the Federal officers that led to the unfortunate unprovoked physical attacks against them was: Do you remember the oath you took when you put on the uniform?
If Donald Trump paid any attention to his briefings or actually served when called (instead of dodging the draft five times) he would know this: our military is sworn to support and defend the Constitution from security threats both domestic and abroad — against threats just like him and anyone who would use federal agents to enact violence against civilians.

Two veterans went to the protests last week.
One left with broken bones, the other left with a direct hit to the eyes with pepper spray.
This is no way to treat our vets — this is no way to treat humans, period. Thanks for anything you can contribute today to make sure that we fight for these two veterans until November the way they fought for us.
