John,
Yesterday, one of my primary opponents tried to come after me for
supporting Medicare for All. 👇
[ Alt ]A post from @MalloryMcMorrow: 'On an issue as important as healthcare,
you have to be honest about what you’re fighting for –– not rewriting
definitions to have it both ways. The Medicare for All legislation that
you’ve championed completely eliminates private health insurance as it
exists today.' the post is quoting a post from @AbdulElSayed:'Defending a
healthcare system that’s failing us is our own American version of
Stockholm syndrome (except they’ve got much better healthcare in
Stockholm). My thoughts with @briantylercohen:'
You read that right, Medicare for All — a policy the overwhelming majority
of voters support.
In her comment, she says, “You have to be honest about what you’re
fighting for,” and I agree. So, here are some honest truths about Medicare
for All and this campaign:
* Medicare for All guarantees every single American public insurance.
But it doesn’t completely eliminate private health insurance. Every
American would automatically have Medicare, and private insurance
could supplement or duplicate Medicare. The key is everyone would have
guaranteed healthcare — something our country currently lacks.
* Big Pharma and health insurance corporations make obscene profits off
a broken system — so they pour cash into politics to protect it. They
fund candidates and pundits who will “raise concerns,” muddy the
waters, and make sure nothing ever changes.
* That’s why you can’t trust politicians who have taken corporate PAC
money. Not only am I the only candidate in this race who supports
Medicare for All, but I’m also the only one who has never, and will
never, take corporate PAC money. That means you can rest assured I’m
fighting for your best interests, not some health insurance CEO’s.
John, moments
like this make the stakes of our primary election clear. We have a choice:
1. Stick with a politics where candidates attack popular, common-sense
policies to please those who profit from a broken system.
2. Or, support a campaign where we’re honest about what working people
actually need, and refuse to sell out behind closed doors.

Medicare for All, I hope you’ll chip in $10 or any amount
today.
