Golden Canyon hike at Death Valley National Park

Dear Friend of the National Parks,

After months at home, many of us are itching to get out for a hike, go kayaking or snorkeling, or just safely travel again with family and friends.

National park sites around the country, from Zion to the Great Smokies, are desperately trying to balance a massive influx of park visitors with reduced staffing and a lack of equipment to adequately keep people safe. Worse, many communities near parks simply do not have the health care infrastructure to manage a growing number of COVID-19 infections.

NPCA is eager to resume our small-group tours when things are safe again, but until then, travelers can still do the next-best thing: dream.

Now is the perfect time to fine-tune your bucket list and start planning a trip to a national park you’ve always dreamed of visiting. Fortunately, NPCA and our travel partner Off the Beaten Path have set dates for a variety of small-group adventures in 2021.

Visit our website to start planning your next trip and have something to look forward to once conditions improve. You can sort and filter by trip type, region and park name to find the adventure that is right for you.

NPCA is working with our travel partners to carefully monitor COVID-19 to ensure the protection of our travelers’ health and safety. As conditions and guidelines continue to evolve, our travel partners are committed to easing concerns and creating flexible options for those interested in rescheduling or booking new travel.

Wherever you decide to go this season, please follow the guidance of public health experts. Stay safe, wear a mask, wash your hands and always recreate responsibly.

Cheers,

Jared Dial, NPCA
