Governor Kelly Announces Over $1.4M
to Support Survivors of Domestic Violence
and Families

*
TOPEKA* – Governor Laura Kelly today announced $1,496,970 in funding for 20 community-based domestic violence programs across Kansas. Funded through the federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA), these grants support and strengthen domestic violence programs that provide emergency shelter, 24/7 confidential call and text hotlines, transportation, and specialized services for survivors of domestic violence as well as their families.

“These services play a vital role in promoting safety, stability, and long-term healing for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. This crucial funding will go a long way in supporting Kansans as they rebuild their lives,” *Governor Laura Kelly said. *“Through these grants, we are building a more resilient state together.”

FVPSA funding also enhances access to an array of critical resources such as crisis intervention services, support groups and counseling, legal advocacy and court accompaniment, and assistance with protection from abuse orders. The grant also funds prevention education in schools and communities across Kansas.

The grant funds are made available through the federal Office of Family Violence Prevention and Services, an Office of the Administration for Children and Families at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
