I made Donald Trump mad.
So mad that this morning, his megadonors launched a $1 million dishonest attack ad against me for standing up for AI safety regulations.
These billionaires care A LOT about defeating a guy who actually understands their technology, so this $100 million super PAC named me their #1 target for 2026.
They’re afraid of me because I wrote and passed the strongest AI safety law in the country — one that sets real guardrails on the handful of companies building the most powerful AI systems in the world — and Governor Hochul signed it into law at the end of last year.
These Silicon Valley billionaires want unchecked wealth and power, all at your expense. They want unbridled control over kids’ minds, our jobs, our energy bills, and ultimately, our democracy.
But here’s the kicker: the super PAC that’s now spending seven figures against me is led by the cofounder of tech company Palantir, and they’re attacking me for… working at Palantir. That takes remarkable arrogance — and a lot of gall.
I’ve always been open about my time at Palantir and why I quit, so I want to talk to you directly about that today:
I was hired during the Obama administration, and I worked hard to help the government function better for all of us. I worked with Veterans Affairs to better staff their hospitals, with the CDC to track epidemics, and the DOJ to go after the big banks and recover $20 billion for taxpayers.
But then Trump took office, and Palantir expanded its contract with ICE to include working with the Enforcement and Removal Operations arm that handled deportations. I never worked on the ICE contract during my time at Palantir, but what the company did mattered to me. So I quit.
I walked away from my job — including millions of dollars in unvested equity — because I refused to be part of work I couldn’t stand behind. I chose principle over my career path at the time, and I’m incredibly proud of that. Palantir went on to profit hugely from their work with ICE, and now they’re using those profits to attack me and lie to New Yorkers.
That tells you everything you need to know.
Bottom line — these Trump megadonors are threatened by one thing: a candidate who actually understands this technology and is willing to stand up to them. They think I’m the biggest obstacle to their no-rules fantasy, and they’re right.
I’m running for Congress to stand up for what I believe in. That means abolishing ICE, and it means reining in the dangerous unchecked power of Big AI.
