Since early 2025, more than US$125 million has been stripped from efforts advancing human rights for LGBTIQ people worldwide. That’s roughly one-quarter of all international funding for this work—gone.
This is not a dip. The effect is clear: a movement is being starved.
Outright alone lost US$10 million in committed funding. We were forced to terminate 120 grants to partners in nearly 50 countries. Organizations that provide safe houses, legal defense, health care, and crisis documentation are now fighting to keep their doors open.
When funding collapses, the work doesn’t pause politely. People lose services, safety, and legal defense. Organizations lose staff and hard-won expertise. Decades of progress are at risk.
But we refuse to let that happen.

Here’s how it works:
* 50% goes directly to frontline partners — supporting organizations facing sudden shortfalls with operational continuity, security, legal support, and essential programs.
* 50% sustains Outright’s core operations — the people, the systems, the research, and global advocacy that make frontline protection possible.
We’ve learned the hard way that frontline support without cover is fragile, and global advocacy without frontline truth is hollow. This campaign keeps both sides strong.
Already, more than 140 supporters have pledged over US$5 million during our quiet phase. Now, we’re inviting everyone who cares about the rights and lives of LGBTIQ people around the world to join us.
