Our campaign to stop the demolition of the Wilbur J. Cohen building―a federal building originally constructed to be the headquarters of the Social Security Administration that is filled with historic New Deal art―has new momentum. The Washington Post just printed our warnings:

As a reminder, the Cohen building was designed with art in mind to inspire awe in the public servants who walked through its doors every day, and remind them of the “Meaning of Social Security.”

But Donald Trump’s administration has designated this building for “accelerated disposal.” This means the bulldozers could come at any moment.

This campaign is about more than art. Trump is undertaking an Orwellian campaign to erase Social Security’s history, hoping that by uprooting it from our collective memory, he will have more success handing it over to Wall Street privatizers.
