Dear Neighbor, Like people at home, I have been watching the weather forecasts and the winter storm watch in effect for the Houston area. I am thinking about the things I need to do to get prepared, and our TX-07 team has put together some information to help ensure we are all as ready as we can be. With the watch in effect starting tomorrow, now is the time to prepare to protect the critical 4 P’s: Make sure to have a plan for your loved ones and neighbors (People), ensure Pets are protected, Pipes are wrapped, and Plants are cared for. Ensure you have everything you need to be comfortable and safe during the weather event, including: An adequate supply of food, water, and medications;Check heaters and follow all safety guidelines for space heaters, Carbon Monoxide monitoring, and fire prevention;Charge devices and portable chargers. While ERCOT is not expecting mass power outages, it is always smart to be ready for any scenario; and Keep warm clothing and blankets on hand.
