Team,
There’s no shying away from the facts: This administration has chipped away at DACA in the courts and on the streets. Immigrant youth are anxious and fearful about their safety and their futures amidst increasingly broader and more violent mass raids targeting immigrant communities and allies across the country.
More than 65 DACA recipients — the vast majority with active status — and immigrant youth were detained by immigration agents in 2025. While that’s played out on the ground, the bureaucrats have continued to erode DACA protections. In 2025, the administration:
Barred DACA recipients from accessing health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, affecting the approximately 11,000 DACA recipients who were enrolled in the ACA.
Challenged and blocked access to higher education through attacks on in-state tuition to immigrant students, including DACA recipients, in five states.
Rescinded access to commercial driver’s licenses to certain immigrants, including DACA recipients.
Coordinated with TSA to share travelers’ data with immigration enforcement agencies to target immigrant youth.
In the face of all of these attacks — the physical violence and the erosion of protection — United We Dream will continue its direct work in our community, with trainings for non-violent resistance, support for activists in the thick of it, information and resources, and a safe place for all of us to gather together in peace.
We also won’t stop advocating for Congress to take action; to stand against the administration’s mass delegalization efforts and its latest efforts to target DACA recipients and weaken the DACA program.
There’s a concrete solution on the table now, the bipartisan Dream Act — a bill that would give a pathway to citizenship to immigrants who have lived in the U.S. for most of their lives, contributing to our communities, economy, and workforce. Congress must act with urgency. This moment requires getting it done.
Now, more than ever, we’re guided by love, power, resiliency, and the creativity of our people.
That will never change.
