Friend,
I was raised with the belief that, as Americans, we have an obligation to build opportunities for one another and the next generation.
See, my mom was born in 1938 in Poland, right before Hitler's invasion. She spent her earliest years trapped in the Warsaw Ghetto. For several years during the war, she was separated from my grandparents – but miraculously, they all survived.
After 1945, the three of them left Poland for Sweden, then Mexico City, and eventually, they made their way to New York. To them, America was a land of peace and freedom, a beacon of hope and opportunity to rebuild their shattered lives.
So, as her parents started a business, my mom enrolled herself in public school. She grew up to be a school librarian and married my dad – a dedicated public servant like his dad, too. Eventually, they had my siblings and me.
And they made sure we learned how lucky we were to have so many opportunities before us, and that we were obligated to use them to make the world a better place.
It's been the guiding light of my Senate career, every day of which I've spent fighting to make a difference for communities in Colorado and across the nation. But as Donald Trump takes a wrecking ball to the economy, the rule of law and our democracy, it's clear he did not learn the same lessons.
As he exacts political retribution against Coloradans and risks our entire nation's standing on the world stage, he's also fanning the very flames of fear, hatred and division that have torn countries apart for centuries. It's an insult to the people who fought to overcome these divides so our country could be stronger and give every American a real chance at opportunity.
That's why I feel obligated to keep fighting to make the world a better place where I can make the biggest difference: as governor of my home state.
But winning this race hinges on us reaching every single fundraising target between now and November – like our first $60,000 end-of-month goal of the election year, coming up in eight days.
So please, can I count on you to chip in $5, $25 or the best donation you can make today? Every dollar will help me win this race, protect Colorado from Trump's chaos and build a brighter future – for ourselves, and for the next generation.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading – and for being a part of this grassroots team.
