Listen, I’m aware that you’re… probably not thrilled to receive a fundraising email like this so close to the weekend.

But to be completely honest, these emails aren’t some luxury we can go without. Here’s the proof:

As I type this email, our campaign has received 2,115 individual contributions this month. Over 50% of those donations have come through emails and text messages like these.

Fifty percent. That’s not some tiny percentage we could make up through other channels (like social media, website traffic, and in-person events). Day in and day out, donations to emails like these make up the bulk of our grassroots fundraising.

So yes. I know fundraising emails like these can get a little grating sometimes. And I know if you actually donated to every single one we sent out, you’d probably go bankrupt. (Just so we’re clear, I’d never expect you — or anyone else for that matter — to donate to every single message!)
