I’m a Thornburg native, I grew up right here in this district. My parents taught me the Western PA values we all know: hard work, service, and love of country.
Those values shaped who I am, and they led me to step up and serve our country after the 9/11 attacks.
At 17 years old, I went off to the Naval Academy, and swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. I went on to serve two deployments at sea and a tour on the ground in Iraq.

In the Navy, I lived by the motto "ship, shipmate, self"—putting the mission first and others before myself. That lesson is central to who I am, and it guides me to this day, serving the good people of Western PA in Congress.
In Congress, I’m focused on delivering for our community—fighting to make life less of a rip off, to restore the American Dream, and to protect our Constitution and our democracy.
But it’s clear that my commitment to service and to our country has upset Donald Trump and the GOP.
Trump has targeted me personally for restating the law and a simple truth about the sanctity of the Constitution. He called for me to be arrested, jailed, hanged, and sentenced to death.
John, here in Western PA, we value our freedom—and we know that patriotism isn’t just a word, it’s personal.
So I refuse to be intimidated by Trump’s cowardly attacks. I’m standing up to the president and his weak agenda wherever it threatens us: working to restore healthcare funding, to protect my fellow veterans’ earned care, and to hold Trump accountable for his abuses of power and disregard for the Constitution.
I’ve always believed America is worth fighting for, and I’m sure as hell not about to back down now.
