For first responders, the physical toll doesn’t end when the sirens stop.
Those who responded to 9/11 continue to fight cancer, PTSD, and trauma. This fall, we’re standing with them.
Announcing the First Responder Ride for Resilience: a five-day cycling experience marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
From September 6-10, 2026, first responders and civilians will ride 343 miles from Boston to New York City to honor the 343 firefighters who gave their lives on 9/11—and the thousands more first responders who continue to face higher rates of related cancers and mental health challenges because of their work on that day and beyond.
The ride will benefit Livestrong, Friends of Firefighters, and the Boston Fire Cancer Foundation, who are uniting to address the lasting physical and emotional impact of first responders' commitment to helping others through cancer survivorship support, mental health care, and community healing. Each rider commits to a fundraising minimum, playing a significant role in advancing these important causes.
Only 500 cyclists can take part in this once-in-a-lifetime journey. Ready to be one of them?
