[ [link removed] ]We’re making Big Polluters pay: Scroll to see your impact!

John,

We rounded up our 2025 victories and we proved this: People, not
politicians, are confronting billionaire polluters. And together,
we’re winning.

Where governments failed, communities stepped up — blocking
pipelines, launching renewable energy solutions, and demanding
justice.

With you beside us, the 350.org movement rose up with that same
energy. Here’s the latest.

* Tax Their Billion’s Campaign:
Through our Tax Their Billions campaign in France, we pushed
the French Senate to consider a 2% levy on fortunes over €100
million that could be invested in climate action and public
services. Although the proposal fell just 30 votes short, more
than 65,000 people took action, many mayors now publicly back
fair taxation, and 86% of the French population support it.
We’re truly building momentum for wealth taxes to be included
in national budgets, local elections, and in wider calls for
taxing the rich to pay for clean transport, renewable energy,
and public services. There is no turning back: European
governments will be held accountable if they fail to tax
billionaires who wreck the planet.
* Forcing banks to pull fossil fuel funding:
Thanks to the StopEACOP coalition we lead, 40+ banks and 30+
insurance companies were forced to walk away from the East
Africa Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), the region’s most
destructive fossil fuel expansion. While we must stop the
pipeline for good, communities across Uganda and Tanzania now
have a stronger foothold to fight for a just, renewable
future.
* Stopping fossil fuel companies from passing their costs on to
consumers:
Working with 117 local groups, we pressured energy companies
in the U.S. to stop passing hidden fossil-fuel lobbying costs
onto customers. In Maryland, we helped ban energy companies
from charging households the money owed by fossil fuel
corporations, saving residents $3 million a year.

Last year, we formed a worldwide wave of action no leader could
ignore. Now we must turn our political momentum into concrete
plans and global cooperation, strengthening our grassroots power
to reshape energy policy.

With your support, we are leading the renewable energy
revolution.
