Friend,

Fifty-three years ago, Roe v. Wade affirmed a simple truth: women should have the freedom to make their own health care decisions.

Michigan Republicans spent decades trying to take that freedom away, and when Donald Trump’s Supreme Court finally overturned Roe, they celebrated.

Michiganders didn’t.

We fought back. We passed Proposal 3. And we made it clear that reproductive freedom belongs in Michigan, not in the hands of politicians.

But the fight is far from over.

Republicans up and down the ballot are still pushing extreme abortion bans, backing a national ban, and working to roll back the progress Michigan voters demanded. Dark-money anti-abortion groups are already preparing to pour millions into our state in 2026 to elect politicians who want to control women’s bodies and strip away reproductive health care.

That’s why this moment matters.

The Michigan Democratic Party is organizing now to defend reproductive freedom, not just at the top of the ticket, but in the state Legislature and in every race that determines how our laws are written and enforced.

Your grassroots support is what makes that possible. It’s what fuels organizing in every county. It’s what helps us push back against extremist attacks. And it’s how we make sure Michigan never goes backward on reproductive rights.

Friend, will you chip in today to help Michigan Democrats protect reproductive freedom and stop Republicans from dragging our state backward?

Michiganders have already spoken, loudly and clearly.

Now it’s on us to make sure Republicans hear us again in 2026.

Thank you for standing with us.

Onward,

Curtis Hertel
Chair, Michigan Democratic Party
