Check out what Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey posted on social media this week:
He posted this after news broke that the DOJ has arrested multiple people reportedly involved in storming a Baptist church in St. Paul, MN over the weekend.
Whiny, self-righteous, anti-ICE agitators stormed Cities Church on Sunday shouting down the pastor during his sermon, shouting in the faces of women and children, and shutting down the worship service altogether.
I don’t typically have a visceral reaction to the nonsense spewed by politicians, but Frey’s post has me steaming from the ears.
The First Amendment did not give these anti-ICE agitators the right to interrupt a church service and deprive faithful Americans’ their right to worship Jesus.
And they weren’t simply “protestors,” as Mayor Frey dishonestly describes them; they’re lawbreakers.
The FACE Act is a federal law protecting Americans’ access to both abortion clinics and to houses of worship…
…leftists often forget that part about houses of worship.
I believe these anti-ICE agitators violated the FACE Act and potentially other civil rights protections, including the Ku Klux Klan Act.
But rather than hold these people accountable for their shame and illegal behavior, Mayor Frey is calling for their release.
I, for one, am grateful to see that my friend, Harmeet Dhillon, and her colleagues at the Justice Department brought charges against these individuals.
You know Harmeet well; she really needs no introduction.
Harmeet founded the Center for American Liberty and led it to 3 victories—over Gavin Newsom—at the United States Supreme Court.
Those victories reopened houses of worship to millions of Americans during the COVID pandemic.
The freedom to worship is sacrosanct to our identity as Americans.
We can never stop defending it.
