Reg CC provisions to take effect next week
Technical amendments to
Regulation CC, including changes made by the Economic, Growth, Regulatory Relief
and Consumer Protection Act (S.2155) which impact institutions located in U.S.
territories, are set to become effective next week. The new rule, jointly published
by the Federal Reserve and CFPB, does not implement adjustments to funds availability amounts until July 1, 2020.

As Tropical Storm
Dorian gains strength in the Atlantic, the NCUA has urged credit unions in its
path to be safe and take precautions. According to initial reports the storm is
expected to hit Puerto Rico today and may reach Florida by this weekend.

CFPB
releases new credit card market report
Yesterday, the Consumer Financial
Protection Bureau (CFPB) released its biennial report on the state of the credit
card market for 2017-2018, which found credit cards constitute the largest consumer lending market.
