** Hiroshima and Nagasaki 75 years on

In 1945, the United States dropped nuclear bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with tragic and devastating consequences. Hundreds of thousands of people died, many instantaneously, others soon after from burns and shock, and yet more from the impact of radiation in the months and years that followed.

75 years later, we ask you to join us in commemorating the anniversaries of these bombings, to remind ourselves why we campaign for a world without nuclear weapons. Events are happening across the country, as well as online. You can get involved from your home or garden or you can join your nearest event.

** Radiation and Women's Health webinar
------------------------------------------------------------
Join CND for an online meeting to discuss the impact of radiation on women's health. We are joined by Cindy Folkers of Beyond Nuclear, Mary Olson of the Gender and Radiation Impact Project and Dr Ian Fairlie, CND Vice-President and science adviser, and a leading consultant on radioactivity in the environment.

There is overwhelming evidence that women - and children - are considerably more sensitive to radiation than men. We will be discussing how this should impact the government's policy on nuclear power and considering concrete policy proposals that anti-nuclear campaigners should be advocating.
